We had a fines session with a difference at our recent meeting during DG Ian Pickering's visit. This is the way it went-------
To-night is rather a special night.....And I'll try very hard to get it right.
While I don't want to take up too much time.....I've tried to commit it all to rhyme.
Assistant Keith will wait on you......When your name comes up as we usually do.
It's 34 years since I tried one of these.....So if there's a little bit of rust, forgive me please.DG Ian lives Narre Warren way.....And wholesales plants from day to day.
Previously he worked in the education field.....From serving the Community he has never reeled.
He has travelled abroard as he sought to support.....Those Rotary projects for which he has fought.President Bill is our bookseller fine.....He allocated the jobs and that's how I got mine.
Vice President Arie was our baker beaut.....His pies and pasties were of high repute.
Past President Rex is a developer of land.....But years ago he'd have sold you some sand.
Secretary Rob was administering schools.....But now tries his hand with farming tools.
Treasurer David drives a bus and sells flowers.....He works on the books for hours and hours.
Director Ian works in the courts.....When things get quiet he plays crosses and noughts.
Director John grows potatoes shaped true.....They come out of the ground right on cue.
Director Dick used miles of plastic sheeting.....And cut out shapes using dies and heating.
Editor Colin will print your books.....And his father Alan takes pride in their looks.
Miceal deals in commercial law......And Don's joinery works was well to the fore.
Rotarian Terry is our Principal fair.....He gets good results without tearing his hair.
Bill is the agent for papers and books.....And Clarrie will sell you yours screws, nails and hooks.
Lea will survey your land most precisley.....And Colin breeds cattle extremely nicley.
Gavin will build you machinary and frames......While Richard sells computers amd maybe some games.
Neil designs and makes beautiful frocks.....To cover the girls right down to their hocks.
Cerdic and Gordon were banking execs.....They sometimes bounced their clients' cheques.
Past President Max always beamed with glee.....As he welcomed his clients at the old S.S.B.
Keith earns his living from investing his cash.....And Peter sells cars with their fair share of dash.
Rotarian John manages our Shire so well.....While telecommunications occupy our Kel.
Glynn grows beautiful apples and fruit.....While John makes cars look realy beaut.
Farmer Ray milks money from cows......While Ian delivers his fruit to your hows (House).
Past President Pat is an insurance man.....He'll sign you up if he jolly well can.
Rotarian Allan is our reverend gent......Go along Sunday and he'll help you repent.
Alex consults in computer technology......And he uses a bit of client psychology.
Wayne is a charge nurse of good repute......This is a fact we cannot refute.
Dennis supplied us our electric power......And runs our fotty tips - takes hours and hours.
John extracted orange juice from the fruit......When in Druoin he followed a recreational pursuit.
Saddo is known as a successful builder.....He keeps his men working like "Waltzing Matilda".
Gary consults in engineering design.....With a gateway or two his latest line.
Rotarian Graeme manages a railway line......Travelling daily to Bayside he thinks trains are fine.
DG's rep Jon an accountant of note.....He'll do your tax before he goes to the tote.
This ends our session if a little unruly......But first I suppose I should fine yours truely.
